Homemade Round Cut Fries

These Homemade Round Cut Fries were an attempt to mimic the delicious fries at the Gristmill Restaurant in Gruene, TX.  They worked out pretty well and can be adjusted to taste and available heating apparatus available to you.  Enjoy!


Ingredients

  • 2-4 Red Potatoes
  • 2-4 T Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 T Lawry’s Seasoned Salt
  • 1 t Cracked Black Pepper
  • 1/2-1 T Paprika
  • 1/2-1 T Garlic powder
    *seasoning amounts can vary based on personal taste and quantity serving.

Other items needed:

  • 9×13 pan
  • Parchment Paper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F
  2. Cut red potatoes into rounds, 3/8-1/2″ thick as desired.
  3. Toss potato slices in bowl with olive oil until coated evenly on both sides of each slice.
  4. Add seasoning to bowl of potatoes and toss until evenly coated with seasonings.
  5. Place potato rounds on parchment paper, then place in the oven. Bake for 30-45min, flipping them every 15min until golden, but not burned. (After the first flip add a tad more salt if desired.)
  6. Let cool outside oven for a few minutes before serving.
